Loyola Marymount University has an opening for a Grants Specialist, Academic Grants. 

 

The Grants Specialist reports to the Director of Sponored Projects.  The incumbent is responsible for assisting faculty and University-wide grant-seekers with the development and submission of grant applications to external funding agencies. In keeping with the Strategic Plan for LMU, the position serves to promote faculty productivity in research, scholarship, and creative works with outside funding to support such work.

 

The successful candidate will have a minimum 3 years of experience working in a Sponsored Research Office in progressively responsible positions.  Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of: conducting grant opportunity searches; knowledge of federal agency grant programs sponsored by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, the Department of Education, National Endowments for the Humanities and the Arts, and others; Exemplary communication skills (both written and oral) evidenced by background in preparing comprehensive reports and executive summaries incorporating complex, highly technical information.  Highly developed organizational and leadership skills.  Demonstrated computer competency and in depth knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and strong Internet search capability.  Typically a Master?s Degree in the sciences or humanities or equivalent experience.  Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.
