INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
SUMMARY: Applies formalized educational processes to develop training programs for industrial,
commercial, service or government clients by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Confers with management/client to understand work situation. Performs needs, job, and task analysis
to determine training required for trainees to better understand changes in policies, procedures,
regulations and technologies.
Incorporates methods and requirements of instructional systems such as Instructional Systems
Development (ISD), Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) or Training Systems Development (TSD)
process.
Develops teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual training, group
instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.
Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia
visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.
Designs and develops exams to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.
Reports on trainee progress.
Maintains training programs and materials.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
? Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
? English, Technical Writing, Instructional Design, Communications, or Business degrees preferred. Master?s degree a plus.
? Minimum 2- 5 years corporate training experience in instructional design.
? Understanding of training design principles and adult education concepts.
? Highly developed collaboration, communication and organizational skills.
? Quality consciousness and attention to detail
? Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications For quick consideration
