IT Training Manager

Direct, manage, plan and coordinate the operational and administrative activities of the Global IT Training group, which is responsible for supporting the Global IT organization.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate course development and/or procurement of outside training sources.
Consult with internal clients to identify training needs and implement solutions to meet those needs.
Manage department's use of Saba Learning Management System, including domain and (web-based) content administration, oversight of course catalogue administration and implementation of Learning Plans.
Direct the scheduling of courses and coordination of enrollment.
Direct activities related to management of training records and CVs for GIT personnel.
Prepares reports to management on training effectiveness.
Responsible for maintenance of library of training material and index of training sources.
Assigns staff to teaching assignments and directs their activities.
Plans and administers training and orientation programs for IT personnel.
Coordinates course development and/or procurement of outside training sources.
Directs the scheduling of courses and coordination of enrollments.
Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the Training section.
Evaluates effectiveness of training courses and sources of training.
Reviews, evaluates and prepares periodic performance reports of own staff.
Prepare reports to management on training completion for mandatory training.
Assign staff (internal staff group, Subject Matter Experts or outsourced resources) to training assignments and direct their activities.
Perform related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in computer science, learning technology, information technology or related field required, Masters Degree in learning technology or related degree preferred.
Minimum of 8 years Corporate professional experience, preferably in a Fortune 500 Company
5-7 years training and development experience with a focus on the delivery of technical training material, including systems and procedures
3-5 years management experience
2 or more years of curriculum development
Must have experience supporting an IT organization
Understands organizational dynamics and business strategy; translates into learning solutions to support management and technical learner populations
Understands current and emerging technologies and how they are reshaping the training industry
Responsible for establishing templates and standards for e-learning as well as standards for authoring and testing tools that represent the latest approaches in rapid e-learning development.
Provides thought leadership in applying a wide range of technologies to the delivery of training, knowledge and performance support
Employs creative, practical problem diagnosis and problem solving skills
Demonstrates highly effective change management skills, maintains flexibility, is able to implement new processes
Possesses strong project management and organizational skills
Applies excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possesses and uses negotiation/influencing skills effectively
Builds and sustains productive working relationships with peers and management
Displays strong team and leadership skills and high personal standard of integrity
Displays sound general management skills and knowledge
Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
Depth of experience in working with commonly used web development tools, CBT authoring tools, computer simulation and prototyping tools, HTML, LCMS systems.
Excellent PC skills, with a high level of proficiency in Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, & Project
