Instructional Aide

MAKE A DIFFERENCE & GAIN VALUABLE EXPERIENCE....

 

Become a member of a professional classroom team designed to support children with Autism or TBI through individualized programming in a rich staffing ratio.  The instructional aide is responsible for implementing programs, collecting data, assisting students with activities of daily living, assisting the classroom team in the creation of materials, and providing feedback and input to the team on individual student progress. 

 

Successful candidates will be creative, energetic, and demonstrate a willingness to learn.  Experience is preferred but training is provided.

 

We are a small private day school currently serving 18 children. The majority of our students are served in a 1:1 ratio, with a few students receiving services in a 1:2 or 1:3 ratio. Our program is tailored to each student based on individual strengths and needs with a focus on functional communication, fostering independence, and positive behavioral support. Some of our students exhibit problem behavior such as physical aggression, which places themselves and others at risk. Although all staff members take caution to avoid these situations, there is a potential for exposure to things such as hitting, kicking, biting, and hair pulling.
