General Description: Develop instructional solutions for a variety of Global Learning & Development initiatives such as the learning curricula, Global New Employee Orientation, and Alcon's Performance Management process. Responsible for researching and customizing existing solutions to fulfill Global Learning & Development needs. Work with customers, subject matter experts, and design teams to develop high level design documents, create prototypes, and lead the development of deliverables that address specific training needs. Ensure consistent alignment of all materials with the overall Global Learning & Development strategy.

Design appropriate learning solutions to support the curriculum strategy of the Global Learning & Development organization, to include general employee, managerial, and leadership audiences throughout Global Alcon.

Research, evaluate, and customize existing content to produce the highest quality learning solution to meet the specified Global Learning & Development requirements.

Design and develop course materials such as participant guides and facilitator guides to support Global Learning & Development learning initiatives.

Facilitate Global Learning & Development courses and learning initiatives as needed, to include domestic and international locations.

Responsible for ensuring that all Global Learning & Development materials are appropriate for global distribution, to include the coordination of translated materials, and are aligned with the Global Learning & Development philosophy and strategy.

Provide input into work plan creation, to include advising on the length of time required to develop, revise, and complete the initiative.

Demonstrate consulting and needs analysis behaviors in order to capture project specific knowledge and identify development needs.

Strong stand-up training skills preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in instructional design, adult education, instructional technology, or other equivalent curriculum focusing on training, plus five or more years of instructional design experience dealing with all phases of the project life cycle, and a proven track record with technology-based learning solutions within a high-performing organization.

Required skills include ability to convert information and needs into practical training deliverables; ability to evaluate, analyze, recommend and implement technology interface in a global community; ability to describe, develop, and deploy system-wide assessments, collect data, analyze results and recommend courses of action as a result of findings; superior writing skills, including the ability to write concise, creative and effective instruction, especially for Web-based training; in-depth knowledge in the deployment of adult learning theory with direct applications within a variety of methods of deployment; and proven ability to identify and track effectiveness and efficiency training measures.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in instructional design, adult education, instructional technology, or other equivalent curriculum focusing on training.
