Instructional Media Developer

Education Management Corporation (http://www.edmc.edu), one of the largest providers of private post-secondary education in North America, seeks a motivated individual for a Instructional Media Developer acts as part of the Curriculum Development Team to conceptualize and produce instructional media elements used to enhance online student learning in individual courses, throughout programs of study and within shared learning environments

 

Responsibilities include providing design services and design direction for instructional media elements according to established needs, aesthetics, quality standards, budgets and project deadlines; collaborating with program managers and instructional design teams to articulate instructional media needs and provide media direction for new course development, course maintenance and course revisions; locating, contracting with and supervising outside media contractors assigned to instructional development projects

 

Position Requirements

 

?  This job resides in Pittsburgh

?  Minimum Bachelor?s degree in Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, or related field

?  Minimum 5 years experience developing communication pieces for Web-based environments

?  Minimum 5 years experience contracting with and directing the work of design contractors

?  Familiarity with asynchronous, facilitator-led online learning environments

?  Expertise with design and media development tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Captivate, Adobe Premiere, Javascript, and HTML

?  Competency with Windows OS and Mac OS

?  Strong aesthetic, design composition and typographic abilities

?  Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

?  Must be technologically independent and able to work as part of a virtual team

?  Must be able to collaborate with others across varying time zones and cultural orientations

?  Self-motivated

?  Strong analytical and researching skills

?  Visionary

?  Full development-cycle experience (analysis, design, development, testing, and support)

?  Adult learner training/facilitating experience beneficial
