Master or Senior HVAC Controls Instructor Join Johnson Controls’ award-winning Learning & Development organization and invest in the long-term future of our employees. Responsibility Level:Under general direction, facilitates and delivers basic and advanced learning interventions in HVAC controls systems, primarily in classrooms, labs, and via webcast. Serves as learning coach. Serves as a subject matter expert on learning design and development projects. Key attributes for this particular position:The knowledge and ability to personally perform and teach all of the engineering, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks that JCI HVAC controls personnel are required to perform.Principal Duties:Facilitate assigned learning sessions, which may include live classroom and lab sessions, web-based learning sessions (synchronous or asynchronous), and on-the-job training. Flex facilitation style and approach to fit the needs of the audience, the content, and the technology. Facilitate learning of materials, processes, or systems that have advanced level content and/or facilitate learning in multiple areas of expertise. Maintain subject matter expertise in technology, systems, or processes and serve as a subject matter expert in the development of learning solutions for these areas. Ensure the appropriate learning environment for learning, which may include room arrangement, audiovisual equipment, technical equipment, web access, handouts, etc. Measure results of learning interventions using appropriate methods for determining participant reactions, amount of learning, and ability to demonstrate new skills in the classroom setting. Evaluate on-the-job effectiveness of learners as appropriate. Report results of measurements and evaluations to appropriate Curriculum Leaders, Learning and Development Managers, and internal clients. Develop and present recommendations for continuous improvements to learning interventions. Provide constructive feedback to learners on their knowledge, skills, and performance. Provide coaching to former participants on the job. Integrate technical skills and knowledge into learning interventions. Serve as a subject matter expert during the design and development of learning interventions. Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondence as required. Continuously update and improve delivery and coaching skills including the use of new technologies for sharing knowledge and building skills. Deliver programs on time and on budget. Provide coaching and guidance to other learning facilitators. May support or advise on the development and maintenance of facilities and training equipment.

Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate discipline, such as Engineering or Education, or equivalent experience. Five or more years business experience with control systems or PLCs. Experience with building automation systems preferred. Strong communication and presentation skills. Demonstrated adult education / training / facilitation experience. Fluent in both English and Spanish. Able to work autonomously. Location:Qualified applicants can work in any of the following Johnson Controls Institute locations. Relocation is available.Phoenix, AZSparks, MDLouisville, KYMilwaukee, WI Travel:May include travel up to 30% of the time. Available for occasional travel in Latin America.
