Vocational Nursing Instructor

 

 

Would you enjoy sharing your knowledge and skills with our students at Maric College - Vista?  As a Clinical Nursing Instructor you will provide your students with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level employment in the medical field.  You will provide supervision on an 8 hours per day, 3 days a week schedule at one of our clinical sites.

 

We will consider professionals who lack the teaching experience but are committed to developing our dedicated students for this career path. 

 

What you will do:

Provide students with a copy of the clinical objectives on the first day of the clinical rotation.Present enthusiastic, well prepared, organized, and clear materials for post conference, consistent with the clinical objectives.Continually promote the development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, computation, problem solving and decision-making.Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance.

Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all school policies, and actively participate in their implementation and enforcement.

 

Skills and experience you need:

 

-Current California Register Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license

-Baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of nursing; or a valid

  teaching credential; or have completed a minimum of one year full time

  teaching experience in a state accredited or approved registered nursing or

  vocational school within the last five years; or met community college or

state university teaching requirements in California.

-A minimum of two years experience as a registered nurse or licensed

  vocational nurse within the last five years.

-Ability to be highly organized, & detail oriented

-Excellent persuasive communication skills

-Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, campus and

 clinical site staff.

-Consistently display the highest levels of integrity; Exceptional social &

 customer focused skills; Proven record of achievement.
