Intern, Center for Healthier Communities

Job Details: JOB SUMMARY: The Intern works with the Director of the Center to carry out community education programs, with an emphasis on child safety education. Helps families complete injury risk assessments, develops family safety plans, conducts home safety workshops, and assists with the planning, implementation and evaluation of other community-based programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office 97 software programs .
Excellent customer service skills .
Current Graduate Student in a Public Health Program.
Knowledge of health and healthcare issues.
Valid CA drivers license and proof of insurance.
Ability to relate well to people in culturally diverse backgrounds.
Knowledge of general office procedures/practices and equipment.
Ability to present ideas/information clearly and concisely.
Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
Ability to accurately speak, read, write and understand English.
Basic understanding of health behavior change theory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Bilingual (Spanish/English).
