JUDICIAL COORDINATOR


Stony Brook University?s Division of Student Affairs seeks a Judicial Coordinator. The incumbent will assist the Director of Judicial Affairs in receiving and processing referrals of alleged violations of the University Student Conduct Code, conduct investigations, and chair Administrative Hearing Board.

 

The Judicial Coordinator will interact with various University offices and services, including but not limited to: University Police, University Counseling Center, Campus Residences, Dean of Students, Student Union and Activities, Disability Support Services, University Counsel, Academic Affairs, Faculty, Registrar, Student Accounts, Campus Dining Services, and Parking and Transportation Services.



 

Other responsibilities include:

 

Respond to campus inquiries regarding policies and procedures and parental inquiries and concerns ensure appropriate due process is followed in accordance with the Conduct Code and administer creative sanctions in line with educational philosophy maintain the judicial database, judicial files, and complete judicial activity reports and surveys assist in recruiting, selecting, and training of administrative hearing board members

 

Required:

 

Bachelor?s degree, preferably in student personnel administration. Preferred: Master?s degree in higher education administration, student affairs or related field.

 

Candidate must have minimum of two years experience in academic environment working directly with students, including at least one year of experience in collegiate judicial affairs;  experience as a Judicial Officer and/or additional related experience; experience working with a large student population.

 

Strong computer skills required, preferably with Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.).  Experience with PeopleSoft, PAVE (Judicial Action database) preferred.  

 

The starting salary for the Judicial Coordinator position will be $34,000?$38,000 annually.
