Toyo is currently looking for a Japanese/English Interpreter/Translator to be a key player in facilitating communication by performing the following related duties.

 

* Prepares for interpretation/translation by researching subject matter; studying text to be translated.

* Translates speech/text by listening to speaker; understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating cultural influences; consulting other sources as necessary; explaining the thought in target language while simultaneously listening to next statement, or, taking notes for consecutive translation.

* Evaluates translation by reviewing clarity and grammar; making adjustments in meaning.

* Delivers interpretation and/or prepares translation by speaking live, or keying translated text.

* Verifies translation by proofreading translated text.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

 

Japanese and English language fluency, excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to deal with complex issues in a professional manner, and excellent organizational skills.

 

Must also be strong in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access and able to work closely with production and technical staff.
