LMS Administrator

Description: This position contributes to the development, implementation, management, and maintenance of online course, websites, content, and other products within the POL Education and Practice program. Product responsibilities that fall into this program include (but are not limited to):
o Point of Learning, Education LMS
o Point of Learning, eEditions
o Point of Learning, Solution Sites
o Point of Learning, Practice LMS
o Point of Care Nursing (eNDH, care plans, NursingCenter.com)
o Creation of processes that will enable to the construction and implementation of new products as well as respond to ongoing update and maintenance needs for existing products
o Manage workflows and needs to enable (semi)automatic product loading and updating
o Analysis of divisional platforms and emerging technologies


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Responsible for managing the processes and workflows that support the creation of new POL products and program initiatives.
o Works closely with the Editorial and Production business teams to establish an efficient and repeatable update processes and workflows for existing products.
o Establishing working relationships with Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Production and Technology groups to better support product needs.
o Help direct the next generation LMS platform and contribute to the evolution of the platform according to the strategy of the POL/POC program.
o Support POL/POC local intranet and Internet platform installations.
o Support the training and communication efforts - internal staff and external users/clients.
o Contribute to the planning POL/POC deliverables.
o Define processes and workflows to manage off-shore vendors involved in the creation of new products and the update of existing products.
o Oversee and coordinate project efforts across functional teams including Editorial, Production, Technology, Sales and Marketing.
o Project management and tollgate enforcement.
o Working with Editorial, Sales and Marketing to insure products meet business needs.
o Engages in effective use of offshore resources to augment internal staff.
o Responsibility for helping define the processes between Editorial, Production and Technology/Vendors.

Qualifications:
o Bachelors degree, or higher.
o Five or more years experience in publishing with some degree of electronic product/platform development and management.
o Solid understanding of the workflows and processes that contribute to the creation, production, and delivery of print and electronic publications (books, journals, newsletters, ancillary content, etc.).
o Excellent project management skills including the management of internal and offshore staff.
o Excellent interpersonal communication skills and experience in working with business teams to define content offerings and set expectations according to formalized plans.
o A strong history of proven successes bringing products and applications from conception to production on time and within budget.


Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications:
o Organizational and communication skills including the ability to interact with business personnel in the initial and subsequent phases of project conception and development.
o Experience with formalized process methodologies.
o Ability to generate detailed project task/management plans.
o Ability to build and administer courses on an LMS platform.
o High-level understanding of web technologies.
o Ability to provide written progress reports for the team.
o Ability to ensure that the projects/deliverables meet deadlines and scheduled delivery dates.
o Excellent project management knowledge, skills and ability along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of technical staff and offshore staff is required.
