Learning Specialist – Financial Markets 









JOB DESCRIPTION – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




 


Research, design, develop and deliver learning solutions for Reuters staff to best-practice standards. This role will ensure that staff undertaking any learning & development activity will be helped to develop the knowledge, skills, behaviours and attitudes necessary to perform their job.


 


Scope and Impact:
Ability to work with managers and key staff to identity performance issues, and design and implement solutions to deliver results.


 


Key Responsibilities:


1) Designs, develops & delivers learning (courses, synchronous & eLearning) to GL standard
2) Takes part in learning projects.
3) Develops & designs learning based on needs analysis from project leader. May assist in needs analysis for a new market or new initiative, or may lead routine performance analysis in a mature skills pool.
4) Uses GL toolkit to design, develop & deliver learning
5) Works collaboratively with learning colleagues in all centres/ functions to ensure efficient use of resources & effort
6) May maintain a small body of learning material and expertise on behalf of the wider team in an area of personal specialty.


 


 


 









JOB SPECIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE




1) Typically has 2+ years Financial Markets knowledge, ie, brokerage, trading, portfolio


 management.  Recommended qualifications:  Series 7 and/or 63(US); Internal financial markets certifications a plus


2) Will have proven track record in role/s where specialist expertise in financial markets and products has been developed


3) Proficiency with financial research applications and/or trading floor technology


4) Previous experience with Reuters products a plus
5) Will typically have prior delivery experience & subject matter qualifications. Typically has 2+ years design, development, and delivery experience


6) Able to prioritize and deliver quality results in a time sensitive environment


7) Proven ability to build relationships with clients, users, and colleagues in a global environment
8) Advanced proficiency with Excel, MS Office


9) Proven project management experience and/or workflow analysis.  Working knowledge of MS Project a plus
