Meeting & Events Coordinator

Description:
Seeking individual with strong interpersonal skills to be responsible for meetings. This individual will interact with speakers and meeting participants, process registrations, maintain registration database, develop meeting material, and provide administrative support. Domestic and international travel may be required.

* This is a contingent hire posting ? we are seeking qualified applicants to be included in a bid in the Washington DC area. The position advertised MAY only be available should we be awarded the contract. THE POSITION IS ALSO CONTINGENT ON THE INDIVIDUAL BEING ABLE TO ATTAIN A US GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE.

Required Skills:
Strong skills in communication, organization, time management, as well as ability to work independently and on multiple projects are essential. The ability to juggle multiple priorities with a sense of urgency is required. Must be a knowledgeable team player with excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written skills; familiarity with state of the art technology in organization, presentations and communication; and absolute dedication to detail. Previous experience working in a government environment is strongly desired. Previous experience organizing instructional/training events is also strongly desired.

Successful candidates must a minimum of 3-4 years of related experience in the meeting industry; proven meeting management expertise; candidates must also possess a four year college degree and must be proficient in current office software applications.

Major Activities:
1. Coordinate meetings, provide support and lead onsite when required.
2. Consult with the clients on the best meeting media based on objectives, audience size, locations, and budget requirements.
3. Consult with clients on design and development of meeting presentations/materials ensuring that the content is created for use in context, such as developing and coordinating presentation templates, graphics, etc.
4. When required - Interface with virtual meeting technology company and all virtual meeting sites/participants to ensure they are prepared technologically and psychologically.
5. Distribute meeting evaluations to client(s) and participants to collect meeting feedback.
6. Generate reports based on meeting feedback.
7. Create meeting registration websites.
