Mgr II Training & Develop

Job Description:

Provide managerial support functions to effectively manage remote training teams. Implement and operate training software as required to develop and execute an effective training program. Keep abreast of training methodology and content and Navy ILE requirements and validate compliance with ILE standards. Prepare management updates including weekly management meetings (or as required) with Submarine Learning Center personnel to provide current budget and schedule status of topics/courses under development. Daily responsibilities will include multimedia courseware programming, courseware maintenance, project status reporting, and interaction with other members of the development team. In addition, the candidate may be required to supervise media selection, storyboard development, lesson specification development, courseware development, and a team of Training & Development Specialists .



Security Clearance:

Secret clearance required





Required Skills:
- Ability to self-supervise; must be able to work independently and as part of a team;
- A minimum of 8 years experience in the submarine Fire Control Technician rating;
- 8 or more years directly related work experience;
- 3 or more years of recent DoD management or supervisory experience;
- BS in Education or Instructional Design; experience can be substituted for educational requirements
- Experience developing SCORM conformant and Section 508 compliant web-based courseware




Desired Skills:
- Four (4) years experience in developing or reviewing course materials, training aids, manuals for vocation or military training programs; teaching; or administering Navy submarine training programs.
- A solid understanding of technical issues surrounding development and deployment of web applications.


- Previous experience leading a courseware development team.
- Previous submarine weapons/fire control training.
