Middle School Language Arts Teacher

Job Title:  Middle School (6th-8th Grade) Language Arts Teaching Position

 

Job Function:  The primary responsibility of the teacher is to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians.

 

This teacher will teach Language Arts to students in grades 6th ? 8th according to North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Core Standards. The Upper Room Christian Academy has placed particular focus on writing and are looking for teachers are apt to help students excel in this area.

 

The teacher must be a born-again college graduate who is certified or certifiable with NCDPI or ACSI.

 

Essential Duties Include: 

? Reflect the purpose of the Upper Room Christian Academy which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.

? Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child.

? Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout curriculum and activities.

? Employ effective classroom management strategies in the classroom and on school premises to promote a good learning environment.

? Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff.

? Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.

? Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records

 

Qualifications:

? Must be a born-again believer who is a good standing member of at a local church.

? Must have at least a Bachelor of Science in

? Bachelor of Science in Language Arts/Middle School Education or related area.

? Must be certified to teach in North Carolina or certifiable.

? Must be able to maintain positive relationships with students, parents and staff.

? Must demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

? Strong verbal and  written communication skills.

? Must maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and agreement with school policy.
