OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

 

Role: Permanent full time.

  Live out 

  Monday - Friday

Care of two children aged 5 years and 2 years

 

Start Date: As soon as possible

 

Location: Upper West Side

 

Salary:  Very competitive

 

Vacation:    2 weeks paid at mutually convenient times. 

Extra paid days for each complete

year of service

Public holidays paid or time in lieu

 

Educational requirements:  College educated.

Early childhood education or similar a bonus.

 

Travel required:    Yes ? must be available to travel with family

 

Other: Non- smoker. 

Willing to undertake some pet care. 

CPR trained.

Full working papers required

Excellent references essential

 

THE ROLE

 

We have two delightful, intelligent and engaged children aged 5 years and 2 years respectively.  The eldest will attend full time Kindergarten commencing in September

 

We are two busy parents with full time careers; dedicated professionals who seek like attitude in professional nanny dedicated to a career in early childhood education. 

 

You will be outgoing and energetic ? both mentally and physically. You will have a positive attitude and be very flexible, be responsible but fun and nurturing.  The children are engaged and curious and we look for someone to encourage their exploration ? who will read to them, supervise homework and reading, play with them, proactively teach and nurture, arrange play dates and accompany them to the park, to museums, to visit friends, to music and sports classes etc. 

 

We expect the children to have good manners and respect for others and look for someone with similar values to reinforce appropriate behaviour.  We expect the children to undertake age appropriate chores ? clean up their toys, make their beds, and the like and for you to supervise and encourage them to be responsible and thoughtful.

 

You will be a calm and organized person, able to take on all aspects of scheduling for the children, deal with their friends, their appointments and their wellbeing with an unflappable and cheerful demeanour.

 

You will be responsible for the physical welfare and health of the children.  Your responsibilities include cooking for the children.  Good eating habits and organic, nutritious, balanced meals are important.

 

Some simple food preparation for adults also required.  No housework expected beyond care of the children?s room, clothes and toys and occasional basic tidying if required as cover for full time housekeeper.
