We have an exciting opportunity to join Pearson Education as a National Consultant for the Pearson Learning Group. A division of Pearson Education, Pearson Learning Group is a leading publisher of supplemental materials for grades pre-K through 5.

National Consultants represent Pearson Learning Group as educational experts, and are primarily focused on building demand for our solutions in the pre-sales arena.

Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

' Providing support to the sales force in the pre-selling stage by giving key sales and adoption presentations
' Building and maintaining strong relationships with State departments, National Associations and Schools of Education
' Speaking and presenting at industry conferences and other special events such as workshops and web casts
' Giving insight to the sales force on latest industry research and writing articles for trade journals
' Sharing market trends with both Marketing and Editorial departments, and field testing new products
' Specializing in specific areas of education, including but not limited to: early childhood, reading, use and integration of technology courseware, and ESL-bilingual education
' Training, certifying, and mentoring new part-time training consultants

Basic qualifications for this position include:

' B.A/B.S Degree; Master's Degree is preferred
' 5 years teaching experience
' Administrative experience (expense reports, presentation materials, etc.)
' Superior communication and public speaking abilities
' Understands the selling concept and can show enthusiasm for the products and customer needs
' Experience with staff development
' Considerable travel is required and must be flexible with working some weekends
