2 PKIT Bilingual Spanish Service Providers Needed To Work With Head Start Program

 



 

The Institute for the Redesign of Learning serves a population of individuals who have often experienced major life challenges and need assistance in their day-to-day living skills.  The staff supports in this process by preparing our clients to participate as positive members of their community.

 A proactive, solution oriented approach to problem solvingThe ability to be an appropriate role modelA high personal stress tolerance levelA flexible style with the ability to incorporate change and frustrationThe ability to demonstrate emotional maturityA sense of humorThe ability to accept and value diversityMaintains a professional demeanor, attire and work schedule as an IRL representative.Follows through on all duties and tasks assigned Qualifications:  Must hold an Associates (with less then one year toward their bachelors) or bachelors degree in Child Development, Early Education, Speech and Language, Communicative or Communication Disorders, Psychology or Social Work. Proven ability to work with preschool children with language, learning, motor readiness, and/or behavior disorders; ability to work well with policies and personnel across all clients; ability to communicate child?s needs and progress to parents of identified children.

 

Driving is required. Must have valid CA drivers license and proof of business related automobile insurance.

 

A current background check through the FBI, DOJ and Community Care licensing must be submitted. A current TB test clearance within 1 year.

 

Must have the ability to drive from one school  (site) to the next on a daily basis.

 

Bilingual (Spanish-English) ability is required for this position.

 Principal Responsibilities:   Conducts informal observations of preschool children as assigned by the Coordinator.

 

Prepares or procures individualized materials and activities to be used in weekly intervention services with identified children.

 

Must work within the Head Start Classroom on an itinerant basis to help meet the needs of identified children.

 

Must facilitate goals with individual children and small groups through the ongoing classroom program.

 

Maintains progress logs and records of intervention visits as they pertain to meeting IEP objectives.

 

Must comply with all timelines and procedures in Department Handbook.

 

Must work with Head Start and District staff to support the transition form Head Start to kinder by conduct a Classroom Team Assessment Report (CTAR) for identified children.

 

Must meet with staff to discuss observations, modifications, and to share feelings and concerns.

 

Training and Research

 

Attends in-service sessions related to child intervention services, and/or program implementation as needed for smooth program operation.

 

Must attend yearly and monthly meetings as requested by Coordinator.

 

Must attend trainings and in-services required by the client or Coordinator.

Demonstrates the ability to organize, prioritize and a commitment to accomplishment.

 

Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, self-directed and responsible.

 

Demonstrates a willingness to develop professional and technical skills.
