PSM Technical Training Manager

The candidate will supervise the day to day technical training operations associated with the companies' mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography product lines. Coordinate closely with technical experts, product managers, product service specialists, and field service and support experts to define corporate training needs and develop standardized technical training curricula for employees and customers worldwide. Oversee the training and development of the technical training staff, assign class instruction responsibilities, conduct staff performance and compensation reviews, manage group resources and supplies, oversee course scheduling and registration processes, evaluate the effectiveness of the group's technical training activities, and facilitate/instruct technical training courses. Duties will also include preparing training course materials, preparing classrooms/labs, maintaining course history documentation, and managing special projects as required. This position will be a working manager's position where the successful candidate will be expected to teach a minimum of 25% of his or her work week.

The candidate requires knowledge and skills normally acquired through the successful completion of a B.S. degree in a life science or engineering related field or comparable experience is desirable. At least five (5) years of previous field service, technical support, or technical training experience with mass spectrometry or liquid chromatography products (esp. Applied Biosystems/Sciex products) is highly desirable. Two (2) years of supervisory or personnel management experience is highly desirable. Total eight (8) years of relative experience required. Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills a must. Familiarity with PC (NT) and Mac computer operations a plus. Strong background in instructional design, technical writing and desktop publishing a plus.
