We currently serve over 3.6 million individuals across the nation, helping to address their unique needs for preventive and acute health care services, deal with chronic conditions, and access to care and services. Come to Ovations and discover the rare combination of a rewarding career and the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives.
The Provider Outreach Specialist position is unique. It’s a rare opportunity to harness your public speaking and presentation skills while developing strategies for your own market of care providers. This high-visibility role is ideal for an outgoing, persuasive professional like you seeking to build a promising career with a thriving managed care system.
Key responsibilities include:
Targeting local providers who would benefit from our Medical Risk Adjustment training
Reaching out to physicians, medical groups, IPAs and hospitals, and building positive, consultative relationships
Educating providers on how to improve their Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF) scores, which measure their patients’ health status
Developing comprehensive, provider-specific plans to increase their RAF performance
Training providers on our Risk Adjustment methods and tools, and working toward their compliance with our programs
Collaborating with doctors, coders, facility staff and a variety of internal and external personnel on a wide scope of Risk Adjustment education efforts
Traveling locally and to neighboring states to meet with providers directly
Managed care experience is required, as is a background giving presentations and speaking publicly. Management and project management experience is preferred. A history working with medical groups would be ideal, and Medicare familiarity is strongly desired. PC proficiency is essential. If you meet these criteria, and you’re prepared for a solid path of advancement with a healthcare industry leader, we urge you to apply now.
UnitedHealth Group offers a full range of comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental and vision, as well as a matching 401k and an employee stock purchase plan.
If you are interested in growing professionally within an innovative, highly respected organization, we invite you to explore this excellent growth opportunity!
