Public Relations/Communications Manager

Chaminade College Preparatory, a Catholic, independent middle and high school, seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated writer/editor/designer to manage a variety of published communications vehicles disseminated to numerous constituency groups of the School.

 

The Public Relations/Communications Specialist's mission is to promote the School through coordinated public relations, media relations and well-designed marketing strategies as prescribed by the School's Strategic Plan.  This key member of the Advancement office team will oversee the communications component providing the creative initiative that will ensure a clear, consistent and coordinated communications program to the School's audiences.

 

Responsibilities include:

* Devise content, design, write, photograph and publish a thirty plus page quarterly news publication with circulation of 12,000.

*Create and design display ads for numerous newspapers and magazines.

*Create and write a minimum of four annual newsletters to School neighbors.

*Assist with copy writing/editing of School Admissions viewbook.

*Produce invitations, programs and other pieces to support goals and mission of the Office of Advancement.

*Support Alumni Relations and all volunteer events.

 

Qualifications

 

*Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years experience in a relevant communications position, ideally in an independent school;

*Superior writing, communication, organization and interpersonal skills;

*Highly organized, great attention to detail, ability to multi-task and deal with rapidly changing priorities;

*A proven track record of successfully managing print production, electronic media and working with creative third-party professionals;

*The ability to work collaboratively and closely with faculty, staff, administrators, students, parents and alumni in all areas of the School;

*Demonstrated proficiency in Micorsoft Office, desktop publishing programs and photography.  Command of QuarkXpress and experience in RaisersEdge a plus.
