Re-Launch your career! Associate Manager, Instructional Designer

The Associate Manager, Instructional Design is responsible for design and development of multiple types of learning solutions that meet current business needs. There are two openings for this position; one is contract 4-6 weeks, and the other regular-fulltime.

 

Business and Client Job Knowledge and Alignment

Work with business leads and other team members to understand needs & priorities, and design & develop learning solutions that meet those needs

The ID needs to have an understanding of client group?s overall job roles and ?skill and knowledge? requirements. You will partner with a variety of individuals and management including therapeutic area business leads and marketers, sales training managers and associates, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), content review teams (regulatory, legal, and medical), and other members of the solutions team, throughout solution development

 

Knowledge of Learning Solution Design and Development, Methodology, and Learning Applications

 
Design, develop, and implement learning solutions that support business needs in various therapeutic areas (product launches, learning tracks, advanced disease state training, selling skills, etc.)
Suggests and implements instructional standards and processes for the design and development of learning solutions (development of performance-based objectives, ADDIE model, etc.)
Develops and conducts needs assessments to determine if learning solution is needed; partners with front-end end analysis team member
Partners with team members and business leads to set up project metrics and measure/report results
Partners with project manager to establish project timelines and logistical requirements and define role/scope of instructional design within specified projects
Leverages eLearning technology to design, develop, and implement distance learning solutions   
Applies knowledge of most applicable learning solutions (eLearning, print-based, classroom, etc.) to meet client needs

 

Project, Resource, and Vendor Management

 
Effectively leads design meetings and solution development events (focus groups, teleconferences, etc.)
Actively manages multiple projects including content development, subject-matter expert review, production, delivery resources, and evaluation
Manages vendor/learning supplier relationships
Communicates project status to management and business leads
Escalates project barriers or obstacles encountered to the right people for resolution

 

Experience Desired

 
Demonstrated experience in learning solution (instructional) design and development of multiple types (print learning systems, classroom-based materials, job aids, assessments, simulations, and eLearning modules)
Demonstrated experience in learning solution needs analysis and evaluation
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with internal and external resources and broader scope learning initiatives (continuous learning curriculums, multiple tracks, etc.)
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients
3-5 years of experience developing learning solutions in a large, complex business organization (preferably within the pharmaceutical industry
Knowledge of eLearning technology (distance learning applications)
Knowledge of project management techniques

Either Master degree in Instructional Design or equivalent ID experience.  This does not mean equivalent experience working in a training department; this means a worker-bee, doing ID.
