SME - Heavy Equipment

Job Description Subject Matter Expert responsible for the technical development of courseware as part of a Curriculum Design Team. The position is responsible for the technical accuracy of course materials including analysis, design, development and review. Duties include:
- Content expert for all courseware
- Participating in course development meetings
- Researching and developing new product content and forecasting vehicle system changes that impact course development
- Working with task lists, existing course materials, Engineers, Instructor?s, Course Developers, Technical Writer?s and Technician?s
- Meeting or exceeding course development milestones/deadlines
- Interface with internal and external customers within Raytheon and industry
- Some travel, to support the development and validation of courses will be required
- Evaluating and making recommendations to courseware development from a technicians perspective


Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years in heavy equipment / agriculture service industry
- Heavy equipment, construction equipment, medium/heavy duty truck experience
- Hydraulic and diesel engine experience required
- An understanding of a typical service department environment
- Experience as a service technician both in the shop and in the field
- Computer software skills (MS Office)
- A working product knowledge, product application(s) and staying current in the industry


Desired Skills
- Experience in developing CBT/WBT and Instructor Led training programs
- Stand up instructor experience
- Technical writing experience
- ASE certifications in Medium Duty/Heavy Equipment, Master ASE certification preferred


Required Education

Associates degree in Heavy Equipment/Agriculture Technology or equivalent technical trade school. Candidates without a degree or trade school must have a minimum five years as a service technician in the shop combined with a minimum five years service technician in the field to be considered.
