This is a software quality engineering position within the Value Scopes Product Line - a team that has produced a series of award winning, leading edge oscilloscope products through 1 Ghz bandwidth. Our instruments have high speed data acquisition and analysis capabilities, and include a wide range of industry leading features, such as serial bus decode. Ongoing customer research and multi-platform development offer a range of new product feature development opportunities.

Each product design team includes software quality experts tasked with coordinating test planning and development, and in training team members in new product quality design techniques. Product quality responsibility is shared with all team members, beginning with feature definition and extending through co-development of automated test suites, product test execution, etc. Our goal is continuous improvement of product quality, design techniques and test execution. Success is dependent on hiring individuals capable of both leading and contributing to this effort.


Engineering responsibilities include (non prioritized):

product requirement and feature set review
participation in SW design reviews
test strategy development and test suite definition
co-development with other SQE (SW quality engineering) teams: common test tools, test suites, process improvement initiatives, etc.
researching and training others in a range of product design and test ?best practices?
assisting SW project leaders in project planning and execution

A successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. This engineering position requires 3- 5 years of work experience in software quality assurance, software process improvement and/or software development.



The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, good organization skills and be able to define, plan and implement general approaches and specific solutions in the areas of software testing and software process improvement. Individuals should have academic or working knowledge of software testing and product development processes and methods, including expertise in several of the following: requirements engineering, product planning, architectures, design methodologies, formal technical reviews, test and evaluation, software metrics, configuration management, software maturity level assessments, system integration. A passion for continuous process improvement is required.



Experience with test, measurement and monitoring equipment; full product development life cycle (specification through product delivery), and familiarity with ISO-9000 and the SEI Capability Maturity Model are all a plus.
