Job Description: 

The Scholarship Coordinator is responsible for actively recruiting candidates for Nursing and/or Allied Health programs for participation in HCA hospital scholarship programs and monitor their progress. This individual will be responsible for providing counseling to students with regard to their progress in the nursing program, guide students through the scholarship process, maintain statistics and generate data about the students, scholarship account, and recruitment activities on a quarterly basis. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:  Acts as a liaison between Miami Dade College and its academic representatives and managers and HCAIdentifies, designs and carries out promotional activities for recruitment purposes and assists with job placementMaintains academic files and records of financial disbursements for each scholarship recipientProvides general information to the public through written and telephone inquiries about the scholarship recipientProvides general information to the public through written and telephone inquiries about the scholarship and admissions criteria and maintains a close working relationship with the MDC's Student Financial Services Office and the Bookstore to assure appropriate utilization of fundsAssures accessibility to sponsorship and potential scholarship students and provides guidance accordingly on campus and at the hospital facilitiesWorks closely with academic managers to keep abreast of issues affecting the various academic programs and their impact on the scholarship programsParticipates in recruitment activities such as job fairs and career days as stipulated by HCA in conjunction with the MDC Director of RecruitmentCoordinates pre-employment activities or sponsorship students by working directly with HCA Human Resources, Directors of Nursing and other department headsProvides input on various committees as directed and provides feedback to individuals and academic managersDesigns and selects all promotional items and vendors to ensure the highest quality at best possible priceCreates a consistent marketing image for all written correspondence computer presentations, promotional items, and display boards that represent HCA hospitals and meet the standards of MDCProcesses all correspondence and applications, checking scholarship criteria and employment/school references and schedules all interview appointments for prospective candidates and coordinates a panel interview schedule with the department heads at HCA and scholarship applicantsServes as liaison to clinical departments at HCA including the Nursing administration and Human Resources Clinical Education departmentPerforms other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Requirements:  Bachelor's degree and four (4) years experienceExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essentialExperience managing a budget and knowledge of spreadsheetsWillingness to travel in Miami-Dade and Broward CountiesKnowledge of financial aid is beneficialMust be able to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
