Position Summary
To provide financial aid and student account advising to a diverse student population. To assist students in making informed decisions as to financing their education. Provide customer service to all students, parents, and colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provides excellent customer service to students/parents and staff.
2. Investigates and resolves student and parent financial concerns.
3. Answers inquiries regarding financial aid and student account issues.
4. Counsels prospective and current students/parents on eligibility and various financial aid programs available.
5. Remains current on federal and state regulations related to student eligibility and guidance.
6. Advises students on all aspects of their financial aid package.
7. Assists in devising a financial aid plan for each student based on eligibility.
8. Makes professional judgments based on Title IV guidelines.
9. Participates in registration and New Student Orientations.
10. Cash and State aid reconciliation, preparing daily bank deposits.
11. Participates in Loan Entrance and Exit Counseling and Default Management.
12. Cash management duties including receipt of payments and posting to accounts.
13. Works some evenings and weekends as needed.
14. Creates reports for daily phone contacts of current and prospective students.
15. Assists in monitoring account receivables and setting of Educard payments.
16. Performs related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
? Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
? Minimum one-year financial aid experience preferred.
? Working knowledge of Title IV Regulations preferred.
? Excellent customer service skills along with written and verbal communication skills required.
? Ability to work in a proactive student finance environment
? Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
? Must be computer and internet literate with knowledge, or ability to learn the following:
? PowerFaids, EDE, and DSM.
? Accounting or finance experience helpful.

Job Content
Required to work an alternate work shift at least twice a week to accommodate office hours of operation. Required to work no more than (3) Saturdays a month. This position requires the ability to work effectively on-line, therefore, a significant portion of the position involves sitting/working/typing in front of a computer screen.
