Cummins Power Generation is a leader in the design and manufacture of power generation equipment and one of the most integrated providers of power solutions in the world.

The Power Generation Business is Cummins second-largest segment, with sales of $1.9 billion in 2004. The business provides systems and services for a diversified customer base needing self-generated or standby power. Commercial power systems, under the Cummins name in North America, consist of 5kW-2MW generator sets, controls, transfer switches and paralleling switchgear. In countries where utility power is unreliable or unavailable, they are used as a prime source of power.

Currently, we are looking for a Technical Trainer for our Minneapolis, Minnesota facility. As a Technical Trainer you will be responsible for:

Ensure technical training programs are developed on time and are delivered to qualify regional and distributor trainers.

- Design, develop, and deliver technical training programs for US and global PGG distributor trainers.
- Work with subject matter experts from Engineering, Service and Marketing for product definition and for subject matter approval.
- Evaluate effectiveness of training programs through design and development of evaluation tools, questionnaires, survey forms, and needs assessment.
- Deliver classroom training to qualify PGG regional trainers and distributor trainers to present technical training for distributor and dealer service personnel.
- Support new product launch teams (VPI) with training related program requirements, resource plans, schedule and program status.
- Gather input from regional and distributor trainers on content and sequence of training programs and certification programs.
- Manage external resources for tools development, translations, and project development.
- Assist in developing strategic plans, annual plans, and budget management for the department.

SKILLS - FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL:

- Bachelors degree in technically related area or equivalent technical training experience.
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Very good communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient with publishing software used to create traditional and computer based training programs.
- PC/Network computer skills.
- Classroom management skills and ability to effectively facilitate large groups.
- Prefer five or more years of experience in a technical training position.

- Knowledge and application of problem solving tools similar to those acquired through CACI, 7-step, and six-sigma.
