Scholastic Book Fairs works in partnership with schools to bring a special book sale that will excite students and teachers about the joy of reading! At a Scholastic Book Fair, teachers, parents, and kids can choose from the best and newest books from more than 150 publishers. Scholastic delivers more than 140,000 fairs worldwide and puts books into the hands of over 50 million students each year.

As Training Specialist you will be instrumental in developing and delivering training solutions within the Western Region (California/Oregon/Washington) of our organization. This is an outstanding opportunity to use your background in training and development to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions. This role involves educating managers and employees through leader-led, self-paced and computer/web based training.

*** Please note - this position will be based out of one of the following Regional Offices: Fremont, CA - Irwindale, CA - Olympia, WA.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related degree required.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in designing and delivering both non-technical and technical training.
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), as well as Web-based training.
Must be flexible to travel 50% - 75%. Must have a valid driver?s license.
Professional presentation and facilitation skills.
Strong instructional design skills for adult learners.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Organization skills with the ability to manage numerous tasks and projects simultaneously.
Goal oriented and focused with strong creative thinking skills.
Team oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
Ability to influence change positively and effectively.
