Tutor - (SES) Supplemental Educational Services: Escambia/Walton/Bay/Washington/Calhoun and Counties

Cool Kids Learn, Inc. (CKL) was created to help improve the academic achievement and life prospects of children by providing innovative learning opportunities during the crucial out-of-school time hours. The organization?s mission is to help provide children with the academic skills and the love of learning they need to succeed in school and in life. Our specific objectives are to assist students to reach or exceed grade level performance in reading and math and come away from the experience with the knowledge that learning can be fun.

 

SUPPLEMENTAL EDUCATIONAL SERVICES (SES)

 

Our SES program combines the best of individualized tutoring with structured group interaction in an effective academic enrichment experience. After school and on weekends, the program engages teachers and certified instructors to tutor small groups of students on-site at schools and other community locations.

 

THE POSITION - TUTOR

 

Cool Kids Learn, Inc. is currently recruiting tutors for the 2005-2006 school-year. Our tutors are all college-educated with an interest in helping students achieve their academic potential. Tutors will teach groups of 4-5 students, maintain student records and hold periodic meetings with parents to discuss progress. Cool Kids Learn, Inc. provides instructional materials, training and support.

Tutors are asked to work between 5 and 20 hours per week during after-school hours (2-6PM). Limited opportunities are also available for evening and weekend tutoring. Positions are available at multiple school locations in Escambia, Walton, Bay, Washington, Calhoun and Counties. Compensation is $ 12 -$ 20 per hour depending on qualifications.

Qualifications:Associate degree; Bachelor?s degree, education majors preferred. Experience working with youth in an educational environment; formal teaching experience highly desired Ability to keep students engaged and excited about learning Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively with parents as well as students Self-motivated with strong organizational skills Timely, reliable and accurate record keeping abilities Model of pro-active integrity and ethics Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet (access required to submit on-line reports) Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation.

All employees must pass a local criminal history check and a fingerprint background check.
