Youth Development Educator

The 4-H Family Sustainability Initiatives program is a holistic approach combining experiential learning for youth and adults, within the family context.  This unique type of programming provides the opportunity for youth and adults to learn together in order to help create safe, positive, and supportive environments allowing family members to thrive and develop.  Some areas of experiential learning for the family include money management, nutrition and exercise, intergenerational understanding, family community involvement, and communication.

 

The duties of the Youth Development Educator include:Identifying, recruiting and training target audiences to be involved in the 4-H Youth Development Program. Assisting in educating 4-H youth volunteers in the development, implementation, and evaluation of training materials for youth in the community. Developing resource materials such as visuals, demonstration supplies, and literature required for the 4-H Program. Assisting in planning, presenting and evaluating 4-H programs.

 

Minimum Qualification:  Graduation from an accredited 4 year college or university and 2 years experience in 4-H, family and consumer sciences or related programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.  Must provide transportation for the performance of fieldwork.
