BASIC FUNCTION

Designs, develops and revises instructional materials for classroom use and/or self-administered training for regional and product training and follow-up programs which is done according to standard guidelines with room for variation.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Designs and develops instructional modules that ensure mastery of learning objectives. Critical outputs include: exercises, workbooks, worksheets, programs of instruction (POI), scripts, story-boards (video, film, audio, and computer based training), manuals, job aids, test and evaluation forms, written role plays, simulations, games, written case studies, test companies payrolls, training databases, computer based training (CBT) and computer managed instruction (CMI).

2. Identifies and defines gaps between ideal and actual performance and determines causes using standard needs analysis techniques (i.e., task analysis, focus groups and Delphi techniques, etc.) in conjunction with senior staff.

3. Performs developmental testing on instructional modules developed by self and others. Reduces and evaluates user results of developmental tests to revise modules for field testing. Collects, reduces, evaluates and prioritizes feedback on existing modules to develop plans for revision.

4. Works with the Publishing Services Group toward final publication of the modules.

5. Supports trainers as they deliver training material. Performs role model training for Area and Associate Trainers as needed.

6. Determines appropriate instruction strategies to meet the organization objectives. Activities might include cost benefit analysis, determination of appropriate training technology and presentation of project proposals and recommendations to management.

7. Prepares reports and assists in the development of less senior department members.



Experience within the client service industry with resultant knowledge of adult learning principles and training and development techniques required. Ability to use computers and training related software packages necessary. Knowledge of ADP products preferred. Good oral and written communication skills with ability to present material to a diverse audience required. Demonstrated ability to gather information and insights from individuals and groups through the use of interviews. The ability to work under the pressure of time constraints necessary.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, instructional design and experience required.
