Assembly Tech - 6 month position

Our Wafer Processing Division is a leading global provider of thin film production systems for the semiconductor industry. These innovative production solutions are designed for the manufacture of highly intricate chips with exceptional performance, making components faster, smaller, with higher package densities and lower power consumption.

 

Unaxis USA, Inc., Wafer Processing is currently in need of several experienced Assembly Technicians for a 6 month assignment.

 

SUMMARY:

Assembles plasma processing equipment partially or completely, working at the bench or on shop floor, with emphasis on quality, safety, and meeting manufacturing deadlines.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Position parts for assembly according to blueprints or standard procedures. 

? Assembles intricate and expensive parts using hand tools, bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.

? Assembles electrical components using bill of material, routers and hand tools. Wire operations involving wire cutting, stripping, crimping of contacts onto various wire gauges, wiring plugs and receptacles of wire harness, and hand soldering to create a good connection.

? Perform complex vacuum leak tests and operation of pneumatically and electric valves.

? May perform a limit range of Gas orbital welding.

? Utilize pneumatic and fluidic diagrams to facilitate utility hookups.

? Identifies and seeks to resolve quality issues, concerns and suggest improvements.

? Maintain class 10,000 clean room requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

? High school graduate or equivalent, plus a two-year degree from a technical, trade, or vocational school

? 1 to 2-year minimum hands-on work experience in an Electro-mechanical manufacturing shop.

? Able to read engineering drawings, bill of material, electrical schematics, wire list and work procedures, etc.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

? Ability to interpret and work from blueprints drawings, schematics, Bill of material routers, technical procedures, and other related material.

? Ability to read, interprets, and follows safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.

? Working knowledge of crimpers, torque wrenches, vacuum leak detectors, soldering irons and other sort of hand tools.

? Must be flexible and adaptable to sudden changes in work assignment to meet tight production schedules.

? Organization and mechanical inclination a must to contribute to a team effort.

? Computer literacy a must.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation, and laboratory and clean room facilities.

The incumbent is routinely required to (sit, stand, walk, touch, see, hear, etc). 

The incumbent must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.  The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
