Customer Service Technician

The duties include troubleshooting/repairing electrical/mechanical systems to the component level and interfacing with customers in the root cause and corrective action of technical problems. Experience in the use of test equipment (multi meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes) a must.



In addition to mechanical and electronic assembly skills, the candidate will possess a strong customer service orientation, trouble-shooting and problem-analysis skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a very good knowledge of personal computers, Internet, e-mail and Windows.



Position Requirements:

This position requires a minimum of 2 years electronics experience. The candidate must be familiar with wire harness assemblies, printed circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies. Able to read and understand schematics/wiring diagrams and assembly diagrams.

 PRINCIPLE DUTIES

 

?  Test, calibrate and repair electronic components, circuit boards and final assemblies.

●  Install software upgrades into circuit boards and assemblies.

?  Assemble components together using various screws, bolts, nuts and other fasteners.

?  Perform modifications and fabrication of parts as required.

?  Provides customer support for the satellite antenna via phone or on site service.

?  Understand and communicate warranty policies and parts pricing.

?  Prepare assemblies or subassemblies for shipment.

?  Maintain a clean and organized work area.

 REQUIRED SKILLS

 

?  Knowledgeable in electronic theory and component level troubleshooting.

?  Must be able to read and understand schematic diagrams.

?  Experience in component level soldering and repair.

?  Can utilize test equipment to include multimeters, oscilloscopes and power supplies

?  Have a basic understanding of assembly diagrams.

?  The use of basic hand and power tools.

?  Have a basic understanding of computer operation.

?  Be able to take measurements and calculate angles.

?  Must have excellent communication skills.

?  Basic understanding of record keeping and documentation.

●  Understanding of satellite TV operation helpful.

 

 EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

 

?  High school diploma/GED

?  1 year?s assembly experience helpful.

?2 years electronics/troubleshooting to component level experience.

?  1 year customer service experience.

 



 

General labor duties will be required with a maximum lifting requirement of 50 pounds.
