Electronics Technician

Repair and refurbish handheld computers to the component level. Candidates will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent attention to detail and high quality workmanship. Candidates must also have the ability to follow oral and written instructions with minimal supervision. Associates degree in Electronics or similar field of study and 2+ years of related experience required. Experience with PPC, HPC, WinCE, and MSDOS a plus.

 

Requirements

? Associates degree (AS) in electronics

? Two years of related experience

? At least an intermediate level knowledge of PC architecture (Hardware, OS, & Software)

? Experience with handheld PC?s (HHP, Symbol, DAP, Intermec, Itronix, Husky, etc) a plus

? Working knowledge of Microsoft Pocket PC/WinCE operating systems is strongly preferred

? Superior verbal communication and writing skills

? Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks and to work independently

? Ability to articulate technical information clearly to non-technical people

? Ability to pay close attention to detail while performing technically detailed tasks in time allotted

? Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations

 

Responsibilities

? Troubleshoot and repair handheld computers to the component level

? Solder/desolder small components using surface-mount (SMT) and through-hole (TH) equipment without errors

? Perform light mechanical assembly and disassembly

? Perform initial and final hardware diagnostic tests

? Follow repair procedures to assure accuracy and quality

? Complete repair paperwork accurately and enter into database

? Provide in-depth technical support to end users on a variety of software and hardware related issues

? Identify, research, and resolve technical problems
