Field Engineer II, Receivers / Overseas on a Tropical Island

Location:  Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands:   Provide operations and maintenance support for radar system. 

Responsibilities:  The Field Engineer will provide operations and maintenance support for the ALTAIR UHF/VHF radar system.  The Field Engineer will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various pieces of commercial and custom analog/RF hardware used in the RF/IF receiver subsystem.  The Field Engineer will perform routine preventive maintenance procedures to keep radar systems fully functional.  The Field Engineer will install new equipment and provide technical inputs about system configuration and performance.  The Field Engineer will fabricate cables, test fixtures, and assemblies utilizing COTS components.  The Field Engineer will provide support to engineering staff as needed and perform other duties as directed. 

 

Status: Unaccompanied.  This full-time position has a two year minimum commitment with unaccompanied status.  Unaccompanied status means that no dependents or pets are authorized.

 

Duration:  We now offer a two year contract! 

 

Security Clearance:  Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

 

Required Skills:  Requirements for this position will include an AS in Electronics or equivalent military training and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of career experience in a related field.  A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in supporting low power microwave receivers is required.  A minimum of 5 years of receiver maintenance experience is required.  Experience with analog/RF hardware components such as amplifiers, couplers, hybrids, and phase shifters is required.  Excellent electrical and mechanical fabrication skills are required.

 

Desired Skills: Experience with the general repair and troubling shooting of RF equipment, interlock and control circuitry, RF test equipment, digital systems, computers, networks and general software literacy.  Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC hardware is desirable. A BSEET may be desirable.
