Field Support Engineer - Digital Cable

The client is seeking a field support engineer with experience in digital cable systems.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The client is seeking a field support engineer experienced with digital cable equipment used by consumers and network providers. The Field Support Engineer will handle installation, operation, and maintenance of set-top boxes and cable modems. This person will also work with both digital and analog headend equipment, especially Motorola DTC5000 and Panasonic equipment. Note this position involves dealing with customers and some travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES
? Provides first-line support for digital cable products sold to cable system operators
? Supports field trials, deployment, and handles customer calls
? Analyzes trouble reports and proposes solutions

COMPENSATION
$60,000 - $80,000 /year + other

REQUIREMENTS
? BS/BA or equivalent in technical field
? 7 years experience
? Experience with digital consumer equipment for cable television and broadband internet
? Experience with digital and analog headend equipment, especially Motorola DTC5000
? Proficiency with RF test and measurement instruments
? Familiarity with DACC, CMTS, DOCSIS, DSG, VoD, VoIP, and TCP/IP
