Instrument Technician I/II
ALAMEDA COUNTY WATER DISTRICTINSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN I/II
ABOUT THE POSITION:
Working as part of a proactive maintenance team, Instrument Technicians install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test a wide variety of pneumatic and electronic recording, indicating, controlling, telemetry, and test instruments used in the production, treatment, and distribution of water, including: communication systems, digital and/or analog computers, printed circuits, magnetic flow meters, d/p cells, solid state tone equipment, and multiplex equipment; flow meters, pressure recorders, loss-of-head indicators, level indicators; and pressure and temperature indicators, regulators, and gauges, chemical feeder controllers, pneumatic controllers, and telemetry receivers and transmitters.
REQUIREMENTS:
This is a journey level classification. Top candidates will have at least four years of experience after attaining journey level status, which includes PLC programming/trouble shooting; process analyzer calibration/trouble shooting; control system trouble shooting.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Level 1
High school diploma or its equivalent and four years of experience after attaining journey level status as an Instrument Technician, performing skilled work in both mechanical and electro mechanical repairs, or electronic circuitry repair. At least 2 years of the four years must be experience working on industrial instrumentation and control.
Level 2
High school diploma or its equivalent and at least 7 years of experience, after attaining journey level status as an Instrument Technician. At least three years of the seven years must have been at a level equivalent to an Instrument Technician 1 with the District.
SALARY: Depending on qualifications and experience, this position can be filled at either level. The range for Instrument Technician I is $5831? $7088/monthly, and the range for Instrument Technician II is $6131 ? $7453/monthly, plus excellent benefits.
