Manufacturing Engineer

This individual will be involved in the day-to-day responsibilities of the surface mount production equipment and related processes.? Some of the responsibilities include:

?

* Evaluating manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

?

* Developing manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

* Improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

* Assuring product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

* Providing manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

* Keeping equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.

* Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

* Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

?

* Bachelor?s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering discipline.

* Working knowledge of at least three of the following: SMT, electronics, lean manufacturing, workcells, and potting compounds.

* Ability to read prints and write assembly procedures and drawings.

* Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
