Microwave Cellular Technician

Union Telephone Company has openings for three radio technicians to install, test, monitor, maintain and operate transmission systems and auxiliary systems including tower and antenna maintenance along with shelter inspections. Base locations are located throughout Wyoming and in the northeast corner of Colorado. Willingness and ability to travel and work outside year around to service our cellular sites is a job requirement.



Background Requirements:

Proficiency to install and maintain, but not limited to, the following types of equipment:

Nortel 800mhz TDMA cell site equipment

Nortel S12000 and S8000

850 and 1900mhz GSM base stations,

Batteries and power supplies (including solar systems) and generators

Alcatel radios

NEC radios

Avantek radios

Spread spectrum radios

Radio repeater equipment

Tellular units

Superconductors

Channel banks

Multiplexers (including lightwave)

Network synchronization equipment

Span termination equipment, span repeater equipment, paging systems, satellite systems, two way systems



Must also:

Program routers

Possess a good networking background



Education/Certification Requirements:

Associates Degree in electronic technology and/or

FCC license required.



The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, team oriented, and able to work unsupervised.
