SUMMARY

To develop and maintain  SMT process equipment through preventative maintenance and procedures for both new and existing production equipment  to ensure quality, repeatability, delivery, and efficiency goals are achieved.

 

REQUIREMENTS

? The ability to repair, adjust, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance on all production equipment in the SMT, wave solder, cleaners, kit-prep and mechanical assembly departments. Must be performed accurately and with the least amount of down time possible.  Must be mechanically inclined, competent with both hand and power tools, ability to troubleshoot mechanically/electrically, and interpret schematics.  Excellent communication skills necessary, along with the ability to train operators.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

? Using developed technical skills, production equipment diagnostics and equipment manuals, mechanically and/or electronically analyze, troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.

? Write and/or support preventative maintenance procedures to ISO standards.

? Support new capital equipment installations and attend maintenance training as required.  Also generate all maintenance procedures and operational guidelines as required.

? Perform training and guidance to SMT operators.

? Support Calibration program for all related SMT equipment.

? Perform minor/major overhauls on automatic and semi-automatic production equipment.

? Recommend improvements, develop procedures and techniques to effectively reduce and eliminate reoccurring problems.

? Maintain accurate records of equipment history log books, preventive maintenance schedules and spare parts inventories.

? Research and place purchase requisitions for equipment spare parts, utilizing original part manufactures when possible.

? Maintain accurate equipment related expenditures on a quarterly basis.

? Become a proactive member and involvement in organizational ?Teams? as they relate to SMT Equipment.

? Other responsibilities as indicated and necessary for the business.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

? High School/Vocational School Diploma

? BS Engineering Degree Preferred

? 1+ years experience maintaining SMT process related equipment ? preferably Universal Equipment.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

? While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.

? May be required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

? Specific vision abilities may include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

? Must wear ESD heel, wrist straps, smocks, or safety glasses in designated areas.

? Other personal protective equipment such as safety shoes as required by position and required by company designated areas.

ISO TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

? All general and job specific ISO training.
