 Senior Display Mechanical Engineering Project Manager Position Description: This mechanical engineering manager will be responsible for developing the mechanical parts associated with all system and subsystem related to LCOS Display products. This project manager will have an overall responsibility to ensure the overall system performance, both optical and electrical, to meet the design objective after integrated into an uneven temperature environment. The project manager will be the key person to see through the overall all development, contracting work outside at design houses, mold manufacturers, and finally transferring the product to Asian manufacturers. Main Responsibilities:  ?  As an engineering mechanical project manager, work with external contracting firm to develop optical system in which LCOS panel will be used. ?  Work with optical engineers to specify the requirements for the mechanical parts.?  Work with electrical engineers to specify the requirements for the mechanical parts.?  Perform thermal, stress, and uniformity analyses analysis on various designs.?  Develop process and test stations for mass production, optimizing for throughput, repeatability and short design cycle.? Design and manufacture the package of LCOS microdisplay: optimizing for low-cost and low thermal dependence.? Manage outside design houses and manufacturing partners to insure the mechanical design is adequate to meet the cost and mechanical, thermal and optical specifications.? Optimize LCOS designs to allow the next generation platforms to be developed. Required Education and Skills:?  M. S. or equivalent experience. ?  7+ years of applicable experience in production environment; display, semiconductor, or disk drive media fabrication a plus. ?  Proficiency in SolidWorks, finite element analysis desired, producing high quality drawings.?  Experienced in plastic injection molding. ?  Must be experienced in reliability and manufacturability issues for the system with high heat generation.?  Must be experienced in dealing with external vendors and suppliers for machined parts, with broad knowledge in state-of-art machining, plastic injection molding and manufacturing processes.?  Must be able to work with process engineers, optical engineers and electronics engineers as a team.?  Must communicate very well with all levels of the manufacturing and engineering organizations, in all forms. ?  Familiarity with vendors in Taiwan and China is a plus.Salary is based upon background and experience.  Benefits package includes: medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), stock options, flextime, flexible spending accounts. Please submit resume and salary history to:The MicroDisplay CorporationAttn:  Human Resources5005 Brandin CourtFremont, CA 94538Or FAX to:  510-353-1405Or E-mail srme@microdisplay.com
