Staff, CAD Engineer

Background

ARM Physical IP (Standard Cells, Memory, IO and Analog) is used by thousands of IC designers around the world to design leading edge chips. We are currently marketing and developing solutions from 250nm to 65nm and below. Key products within the Physical IP space are I/O and Analog Mixed Signal components that are essential for any chip.

A dedicated team of experienced professionals in software, methodology and flow development creates key technology behind these world-class products. This team works with the circuit and layout designers to ensure ARM can produce the best products with the best productivity in the industry.


Role

?  Work with design engineers and layout designers to improve productivity

?  Develop, automate, and integrate tools and flows

?  Extend existing environment to support new products

?  Support commercial CAD tools from Cadence, Synopsys and Mentor Graphics. Debug tools problems

?  Work with Internal CAD and flow development teams to support circuit and layout designers.


Personal Requirements

- minimum BSEE or BSCS  (prefer MSEE or MSCS)

Essential Technical Skills

 

- minimum 4 years experience working with EDA tools such as Cadence ( Composer, Virtuoso, Analog Artist ADE, Spectre, DIVA), Synopsys (HSPICE, Hercules, Star-RCXT) and Mentor Graphics (Calibre)

- minimum 3 years of programming experience using SKILL, C, C++, Perl

  and/or TCL/TK languages

- previous methodology experience with simulation, library development, layout and physical verification.
