Role

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

?  Extension of a configurable memory subsystem model, which supports multiple processors and a wide variety of memory behaviors

?  Implementation of a post-processing mechanism that will convert raw analysis and trace data to meaningful feedback for ARM software developers

?  Contribution of creative solutions to other challenging technical problems

?  Participation in the design and specification of strategically important profiling and analysis products that support ARM-based architectures

?  Technical leadership, mentoring other engineers and making meaningful contributions to the development process

?  Maintaining very high code quality standards by validating code as it is written and working closely with on-site QA staff once code has been checked-in

?  Complete participation in an agile development process, performing nightly check-ins, contributing to weekly review meetings, and embracing cyclic, revision-based coding practices

?  Occasional travel to ARM locations and ARM customer locations around the world

?  Working closely with other key teams within ARM to ensure the highest possible level of integration throughout ARM?s developer tools and a seamless experience for ARM?s customers

?  Clear communication of concepts and ideas within ARM, as well as showcasing product capabilities for selected ARM partners and customers

 

 Educational requirements

?  BSCS or related field of study

?  Comparable experience equally acceptable

 

 Experience

?  5-8 years software development experience

?  Aptitude, talent and attitude are most valued

 

 Essential technical skills

?  Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt to new languages, tools, and development environment

?  Experience coding in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java

?  Ability to write clear, elegant, self-documenting code

?  Willingness to redesign regularly and liberally rewrite code to achieve the best result

?  Aptitude for reading and quickly understanding existing source bases

?  Creative, open-minded and collaborative approach to problem solving

 

 Essential skills and abilities

?  Very clear written and verbal communication skills

?  Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and projects and successfully deliver results on time

?  Awareness of business considerations and their impact on the prioritization and design of product features

 

 Desirable skills and abilities

?  Familiarity with high-level C/C++ code optimization techniques

?  Clear understanding of the principles involved in traditional profiling techniques, both sampling and instrumentation methodologies

?  Experience with RISC instruction set or other assembly language programming/debugging

?  Solid understanding of C and C++ language constructs, from a parsing perspective, and awareness of compiler optimization techniques

?  Detailed knowledge of instruction and data cache operation

?  Knowledge and/or experience with aspects of the design of modern electronics (processor architecture and memory systems)

?  Experience working with the Eclipse IDE
