Vice President of Business Development

SUMMARY:
The Vice President of Business Development will be responsible for exploring and validating the viability of various new business and market opportunities. This position will organize and lead the investigation of new technologies, markets, solutions, and business models that will expand the scope of solutions offered.  Working closely with members of the senior management team, the successful candidate will identify and propose growth strategies consistent with the BU goals and objectives and advance successful proposals for integration into the existing business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to identify opportunities and leverage strengths into new growth markets in generalized signal processing or DSP/FPGA-based test and measurement applications. Leads day-to-day market development efforts of defined opportunities. Works with other functional team members to define, drive and document market strategies, business plans, required capital investment, and expected ROI. Works closely with the product line manager, team members, and functional organizations to assess concept risks and constraints, impacts to program milestones while developing risk mitigation/contingency plans. Responsible for the overall strategy, planning, business modeling, and development of detailed business cases for assigned projects. Capable of reducing complex issues into clearly stated tasks with defined implications and consequences. Provides team leadership and proactive go-to-market strategies for new business models, applications, and markets. Responsible for achieving expected project deliverables/assigned goals, growth, and profitability. Proactively assesses threats to current business that may result from emerging technologies or companies. 60% travel both nationally and internationally



REQUIREMENTS:
Must live in Northern California. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business and 10-15 years experience in strategic planning, market development, or business development (preferably in a signal processing related industry) is required.  Previous test and measurement or signal processing industry experience working directly with customers and internal teams is required. International business experience is required.  Previous consulting or banking experience sourcing and managing acquisitions is a plus. MBA preferred.
