Contract Specialist

 

Required Skills:

? This position will have direct responsibility for managing, tracking and controlling assigned contracts by the Contracts Manager for the company with emphasis towards minimizing company risk while maximizing business relationships. As directed by the Contracts Manager, negotiate with vendors, subcontractors and clients to ensure actions are within the ?rule of law? and represent ethical and moral corporate behavior. Make recommendations to the Contracts Manager regarding contracts during negotiations and prior to the approval of signatures. Coordinate with approved attorneys, based on pre-approval of expenses as approved by the Contracts Manager, on behalf of company in review, approval and signing of contracts as applicable.

? Qualifications and Requirements: Four - six or more years of progressive experience working in contracts management environments within various Government and commercial industry sectors. Cradle-to-grave contracts management experience actively working with sales/marketing, program/operations management teams, and corporate management.


Required Technical Skills:

? Proven track record with managing and maintaining contracts valued at $0-$20 million+. Ability to understand contract language and quickly identify/communicate any risks or liabilities.

? Demonstrated expertise in coordinating and negotiating contract terms and conditions. Ability to draft contract language and correspondence.

? Ability to communicate with management at all levels.

? Ability to efficiently use Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook software.

? Ability to efficiently use the Internet and Intranet.

? Excellent team player.

? Proactive creative thinker and problem solver.

? Close attention to details and timelines.

? Ability to set and achieve goals.

? Experience with the GCS Premier Deltek system or similar contracts and accounting systems is a plus.

? Experience with procurement of IT Services and Products is a plus.

? Knowledge Working knowledge of domestic and foreign contract law for commercial acquisitions a plus.

? Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and various government sector regulations is a plus.

 

Desired Skills: Working knowledge and/or understanding of earned value management (EVM) and Project Management concepts is a plus

 

Non-Tech Skills: Working knowledge of various contract types.


Education:
Undergraduate degree in business, law or contracts management. NCMA Certification is a plus. Graduate education is a plus.
