(FE). The individual will be looked to as a subject matter expert within the Company. Aside from working with his/her Environmental Department peers, this person will work with other utilities, trade associations and research organizations that are addressing pertinent science and regulatory issues currently of concern to the fossil-fuel fired generating industry. The person will represent the Company on key industry committees, be responsible for management of FE contractors, and be expected to apprise and update FE management on the issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science/Meteorology, Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Earth & Space), or Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical or Environmental)

Graduate degree preferred

A knowledge of current air quality models and modeling issues, and computer proficiency with MS Office suite of products, and other programs

Ability to travel 1-2 days per week, or as required

Strong technical ability and communication skills (verbal & written) required

Graduate work in appropriate area will count for experience. Familiarity with air permitting requirements and a knowledge of the electric utility industry is a plus.

5-10 years of employment experience working on air quality/atmospheric science issues in academia, industry, a research laboratory or a regulatory agency.
