Analyst, Financial Performance

POSITION DUTIES:  The candidate will be responsible for developing and evaluating financial performance reporting for AEP assets (generation and LSE) bid into RTO?s. The candidate will analyze how bid strategy and operational decisions impact financial performance as well as how non-controllable events such as generation reliability, transmission congestion, load forecast deviation, etc. impact performance The candidate will be responsible for presenting this information to senior management.  Candidate will participate with other groups on developing strategies to improve financial performance.  Candidate will also assist in providing analysis/support to other Commercial Operations and AEP groups as needed. Candidate will be primarily responsible for the SPP and ERCOT RTO?s.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelors degree required (preferably in finance, economics, accounting, business, engineering) and 5 years or more with experience in energy trading/marketing, financial performance analysis and/or settlements associated with RTO energy markets.

Tools: Ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint) to effectively communicate with management. Candidate should be willing to enroll in professional development courses on an as needed basis.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS (i.e., Training, Skills): Ability to fully interact among a variety of individuals across functional groups with various backgrounds; Candidate should be self-confident, ambitious, creative and be able to work in a team environment as well as independently.

WORK HOURS/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:  40+ hrs/wk; overtime and/or travel as needed.
