This position provides engineering and design for the construction and modification of the region's electrical distribution system. The primary focus of this position is to prepare designs for large scale work such as highway widening, capacity upgrades and reliability enhancements. Equally important, is the need to be able to manage a wide variety of projects involving distribution, transmission, and substation work. Ability to conduct monthly project update meetings within various line shops as well as lessons learned meetings at the completion of each project. Travels throughout the Oil City Customer Operating Center territory to perform engineering duties when required. Interprets, explains, and monitors the consistent application of policies and procedures in compliance with Company, NESC, and Pennsylvania PUC rules and regulations. Utilizes CREWS, AM/FM, SAP and other company systems in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Will design electrical distribution systems, perform investigations of field facilities, research records, prepare easements, determine electrical code and structural requirements, and communicate with property owners, customers, and contractors. Serves during emergency storm-related activities. Assists with training for engineering processes and practices. Performs special projects or duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with a Professional Engineer's License is required.

A working knowledge of electric power distribution systems is required.


Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, leadership, and analytical abilities, business acumen and basic computer skills.

Must be a self-starter, results oriented and a team player. Must be customer focused and willing to work extra and/or irregular hours if required.
