Design/Build/Property Management
Learn the lay of the land. This team is about finding great locations, then creating and maintaining our buildings. You'll also create guest-pleasing in-store plans.
Purpose
Responsible for ensuring cost effective operation of Stores DCs, and HQs locations. Develops utility and marketer resources, prepares, executes and negotiates commodity bids for gas and electricity pricing. Provides technical support and consultation to Store Teams, A&E, Construction, and Building Services on energy efficient store operation and design. Develops test strategies to reduce energy costs, and provides metrics to support implementing test strategies. Manages energy reduction projects including vendor negotiation, purchase order execution, contractor selection and contractor oversight. Develops and monitors utility budgets for stores and DCs. Develops, and puts into effect the energy consumption policies of the Corporation.

Negotiating supply contracts for gas and/or electricity for all Target Corporation facilities in eligible markets
Performing statistical analysis in regulated and deregulated energy markets to ensure the best rates and terms are realized
Developing and Managing supplier "Request for Proposal"
Preparing assorted technical and insightful analysis supporting service costs, rate design and load research for electric and gas markets
Developing and monitoring energy budgets for all locations by providing electric, gas and water forecasting analysis
Preparing spending analysis reports that quantify savings and cost avoidance opportunities impacting the annual energy budget
Providing benchmarking, comparisons, and analysis of energy efficient technologies
Assisting in the preparation of demand profile analysis utilizing load research and our third party billing data
Testing strategies aimed at reducing energy costs
Proposing and justifying capital expenditures for projects that will result in energy conservation
Monitoring the performance of capital improvement projects to ensure projected paybacks are achieved
Assisting in managing gas and electric hedging strategies
Evaluating and making recommendations on proposed hedging strategies, policies and procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
BS/BA in Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, Finance, Energy Management, Engineering, or related field and or demonstrated equivalent work experience
Two years experience in a related Energy Industry field, with track record working on Energy Projects, Operations and Budget Modeling or 2-4 years related experience
A minimum of three years experience in financial analysis and or financial risk using a comprehensive spreadsheet modeling
Must have 2-4 years experience performing detailed analytical and technical studies
Energy use modeling, performing feasibility studies and business case development
Experience with auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, and building/system optimization
Knowledge of the gas and electricity utility industries
Demonstrated Demand Side Management (DSM) experience, energy conservation and work with renewable energy sources
High level initiative in driving projects to completion
Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to build internal and external client relationships
Risk management concepts required include: knowledge of derivatives, hedging, risk management and credit analysis
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Requirements:
Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access experience
Working knowledge/experience with EMS systems and strong financial analysis reporting
CEM Certified Energy Manager or CEP Certified Energy Procurement Professional
